Elast-Gel Therapy Mitts are Outstanding
We purchased Elasto-Gel Therapy Mitts for our daughter to use during Chemotherapy Treatments to help with the side effect of neuropathy of the hands. She started using them at the 3rd treatment and could tell a difference the following day. The fingers had more dexterity, were less swollen, and did not hurt as much. Worth every penny!!!
I like the idea of having the ice pack in the form of a mitt because of all the pain I get in my hands. I had hoped to keep the mitts (I bought 2) handy in the upstairs freezer, but they just aren't cold enough & don't keep the cold that they do have for very long. They work much better (get quite cold & keep the cold much better) if I keep them in the deep freezer in the basement, but that's not quite so handy. The other thing to be aware of is that if you're in Canada, you'll get hit with a duty charge on top of the price (plus the conversion to Cdn $'s) & the shipping & handling which makes them rather expensive. It was about $45. duty for 2 mitts & a shoulder ice pack ($45. duty on approx $300. Cdn).
Chemo Mitts for Hands and Feet
To prevent Neuropathy, I want to use chemo cold mitts on my hands and feet during chemotherapy. I noticed that Donna N. sent in something saying she was using it for the same reason on 10/11/16. Does anyone know if there has been a follow up from Donna on this? Does anyone have any feedback to offer on the use of cold mitts. I don't see any mitts for the feet, only the hands. Where do you find mitts for the feet? The other challenge is that I read the mitts stay cold for only 20-40 minutes. That tells me that I might need a second pair. At an average of $45 for the hand mitts alone, they can be quite costly. I am starting Taxol infusions in 2 weeks, and looking really hard for the right options and any feedback. Greatly appreciated.

Elasto-Gel Therapy Mitten
I had a fractured wrist that required two surgeries. I purchased the mitten prior to the repeat surgery because I didn't have effective icing packs following the first surgery. The mitten is wonderfully effective! I recommend it and look forward to using it warm for my arthritic knuckles as the weather grows colder each week.
